			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On 8 December 2011 the Environment Agency announced that a specialist environmental crime taskforce has been set up to tackle illegal waste sites in England and Wales over the next two years. The new taskforce, which includes former police detectives, will work closely with enforcement partners to close illegal waste sites and gather intelligence. The taskforce will be supported by up to £5 million of Environment Agency funding for the first two years. </p>
<p>The EA&#8217;s chief executive&#8217;s message to all illegal waste site operators is to watch out!</p>
